It was a rainy day, inside a container in the back of a restaurant there was a puppy, very cold and hungry, that they had abandoned several days ago.
The container was next to all the trash in the alley behind the restaurant, and the hungry puppy was looking for a way to find something to eat in the trash.
later, a boy called Milo was walking along his older sister through this alley, and the puppy upon seeing him, leaps towards him and begins to cry for the boy to give him some food. the boy took a small sandwich of his bag that he didn't eat at school, and gave it to the puppy.
Milo told his sister that he thought the dog was very sad and it was very cold, so they couldn't leave him there abandoned and continue on his way as if nothing happened, to this his sister replied that then they should take him to their house.
They continued on their way home and their parents were waiting for them at the door like every day, but that day had something different from other days, the children were with a puppy in their hands, when they got home Milo told their parents the story of the puppy, and they were asked to please allow him to stay home because he had no where to go and they could give him love.
Later, his parents accepted that the puppy stay home, but they only had one condition, they had to take the puppy to the vet and verify that it was healthy, otherwise the doctor would find a solution to cure the puppy.
When they arrived at the vet, the doctor checked the puppy and confirmed that he was healthy, although very malnourished, sad and thin, but they could solve it by feeding him well and taking care of him. therefore the family returned home with the new member, and they decided to call him Roki, also bought the food and some toys for the puppy to played.
Several weeks passed and Roki began to grow and was already part of the family, the parents started to love him and played with him in his free time, the children were always excited to come home to play with their new puppy, Milo especially he was excited to see his friend, on weekends the family went to the park and played with the dog all the day.
But one day the family was visited by the grandmother, and she gave to roki a toy, Roki very happy started running and jumping, and went to Milo's room to play with the new toy, the family continued talking to the grandmother, three hours had passed and Roki had not left the room and this was very rare, roki always ran around the house.
To clarify the doubts, Milo went to his room to see what had happened to Roki but he had a terrible surprise when saw his dog lying on the ground almost without breathing, quickly he shouted his parents and they run to the bedroom, when they saw to Roki they decided to take him to the vet because was an emergency so that the doctor could check what had happened.
Milo was too worried about what was happening to Roki, after the vet checked it, he realized that Roki had eaten the toy that his grandmother had given him, so they had to perform surgery and remove the toy. The family was really worried during the surgery because it was dangerous for their dog.
Milo decided to spend the night with Roki waiting for recovery after surgery, his parents were in the waiting room while Milo was sitting next to Roki's stretcher.
In the morning, the doctor woke up Milo and told the family that Roki was out of danger and that in a few hours they could go home with him.
Milo began to train Roki, explaining that toys are for playing and not for eating, because it was dangerous for his life, Roki learned some fun tricks too and his family gave him prizes for doing them.
Over time the family adopted another dog named Kira, and the two dogs had puppies, the family was happy to have new members and give them a good home.
Currently three years have passed, and the family continues to care for all their dogs and give them lots of love.
